Rotary Club of New Panvel Charitable Trust

The Rotary Club of New Panvel was installed in year 1987 as a part of the then Rotary District 3130, with a member strength of 30. Subsequently after the installation the club formed a charitable trust  by the name “Rotary Club of New Panvel Charitable Trust” registered with the Charity Commissioner Alibaug, District Raigad, Maharashtra.
The motto upheld  was to  serve with a project without any discrimination of caste, creed & religion. According to the trust byelaws, a trustee will be among the members of Rotary Club of New Panvel and its managing committee will be formed to be in post for a tenure of 2 years.

OBJECTIVES OF RCNP's CHARITABLE TRUST

Manage and conduct a blood bank.

To establish , manage and conduct any other medical project for the benefit of
needy persons and society at large.

To provide assistance, financial or otherwise for education in all its sphere and aspects to needy and /or deserving persons. Study group institutions, societies and bodies corporate or otherwise.

To provide assistance financial or otherwise for medical relief to needy and/or deserving persons including institutions, societies and bodies corporate or otherwise.

Advancement of any other object or general public utility or relief not involving the carrying on of an activity for profit.

To establish training institution to impart training to people PROVIDED HOWEVER THAT the income as well as corpus, if necessary shall be applied on by towards public charitable purposes as aforesaid in india and any accumulation of income shall be made and deemed for application to such other public charitable purpose  as aforesaid in India  and the whole or any part of the income or assets of the institution or funds shall not be transferred or applied for any purpose other than the aforesaid charitable purpose.


Right from its inception, after assessing the need of the local community the trust decided to established and operate a Blood Bank, a Polio Immunisation Center, a Charitable Trauma Center in the New Panvel & Panvel area. Application was made to the local authority CIDCO for a plot of land earmarked for such social benefit activities. In 1989 Plot No 08 in Sector 1, Khanda Colony New Panvel West measuring 1200 sq. mtr. was allotted to the trust.
The modern and well equipped blood bank opened its doors to the public on October 2, 1997 with a built-up area of 4,500 sq. ft. Since its inception this blood bank is following extremely stringent norms laid down by FDA and is rendering quality services to the Navi Mumbai area and entire Raigad district.
Blood is collected from voluntary donors at the blood bank and in blood donation camps arranged in conjunction with government enterprises, educational institutions, corporates, religious and cultural associations in the area. After testing and processing, an average of 200 units of blood bags are delivered to needy patients on a no-profit and no-loss basis every month.
